Iran, Cyprus to boost health co-op

TEHRAN — Iranian Health Minister Hassan Qazizadeh-Hashemi and his Cypriot counterpart George Pamboridis signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on Wednesday for an uplift in health cooperation, ISNA news agency reported.

The MOU is aiming at improving cooperation in various fields of healthcare, treatment, pharmaceuticals, training and research.

Cyprus can open up a perfect opportunity for Iran to enter the European market, Qazizadeh-Hashemi said, adding, “we hope that private sectors of the two countries would take up this suitable opportunity to their best advantage.”

He went on to say that “we are expanding our medical ties with Cyprus and we hope we could take active steps towards this goal.”

Moreover Alborz University of Medical Sciences and a Cypriot Medical University signed an MOU to enhance cooperation in medical sciences, the minister added.
